Motor vehicles and trailers: rear registration plate lamps

The Committee on Legal Affairs adopted the report by Mr Hans-Peter MAYER (EPP-ED, DE) approving, under the first reading of the codecision procedure, the proposal for a directive of the European Parliament and the Council relating to rear registration plate lamps on motor vehicles and their trailers (codified version).

Although it was not the subject of any “formal” amendments, the proposal does, however, take into account the recommendations of the Consultative Working Party of the respective legal services of the European Parliament, Council and Commission.

Following the examination of the text, the Consultative Working Party noted that the proposal is a straightforward codification of existing texts, without any change in their substance.
