PURPOSE: to recast the Directive on textile names.
PROPOSED ACT: Directive of the European Parliament and of the Council.
CONTENT: to recall, the Commission proposed to codify Directive 96/74/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council on textile names. The new Directive was to have superseded the various acts incorporated in it. Since the codification of textile names was first proposed, however, a new act was adopted that applies a new implementing procedure: the regulatory procedure with scrutiny.
The purpose of this proposal, therefore, is to transform the codification of Directive 96/74/EC into a recast in order to incorporate the amendments needed to include the regulatory procedure with scrutiny.
