European Food Safety Authority: appointment of seven members of the Management Board

PURPOSE: to propose a list of candidates for submission to the Council and the European Parliament with a view to the appointment of 7 members of the Management Board of the European Food Safety Authority.

PROPOSED ACT: Commission Decision.

CONTENT: the Commission presents a list of candidates for submission to the Council and the European Parliament with a view to the appointment of 7 members of the Management Board of the European Food Safety Authority.

The mandate for 7 of the 14 members of the Management Board expires on 30 June 2008. It is necessary to select new members to replace them.

In accordance with the provisions set out in Article 25 of Regulation (EC) N° 178/2002 (COD/2000/0286), the Commission has organised a selection procedure on the basis of a call for expressions of interest.

A list of 12 candidates is proposed:
