Decision on the number of interparliamentary delegations, delegations to joint parliamentary committees, delegations to parliamentary cooperation committees and multilateral parliamentary assemblies

The European Parliament adopted by 547 votes to 41, with 76 abstentions, a decision on the number of Interparliamentary delegations, delegations to joint interparliamentary committees and delegations to parliamentary cooperation committees and multilateral parliamentary assemblies.

Parliament states that this decision will enter into force at the first part-session of the seventh parliamentary term.

The number of delegations and their regional groupings shall be as follows:

Europe, Western Balkans and Turkey

  1. Delegations to the: (i) EU-Croatia Joint Parliamentary Committee; (ii) EU-Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia Joint Parliamentary Committee; (iii) EU-Turkey Joint Parliamentary Committee
  2. Delegation for relations with Switzerland, Iceland and Norway and to the European Economic Area (EEA) Joint Parliamentary Committee
  3. Delegation for relations with Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Montenegro and Kosovo

Russia, the Eastern Partnership States, Central Asia and Mongolia

  1. Delegation to the EU-Russia Parliamentary Cooperation Committee
  2. Delegation to the EU-Ukraine Parliamentary Cooperation Committee
  3. Delegation to the EU-Moldova Parliamentary Cooperation Committee
  4. Delegation for relations with Belarus
  5. Delegation to the EU-Armenia, EU-Azerbaijan and EU-Georgia Parliamentary Cooperation Committees
  6. Delegation to the EU-Kazakhstan, EU-Kyrgyzstan and EU-Uzbekistan Parliamentary Cooperation Committees, and for relations with Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Mongolia

Maghreb, Mashreq, Israel and Palestine

  1. Delegations for relations with Israel, the Palestinian Legislative Council, the Maghreb countries and the Arab Maghreb Union, the Mashreq countries

The Arab Peninsula, Iraq and Iran

  1. Delegations for relations with the Arab Peninsula, Iraq, Iran

The Americas

  1. Delegations for relations with the United States, Canada, the countries of Central America, the countries of the Andean Community, Mercosur
  2. Delegation to the EU-Mexico Joint Parliamentary Committee
  3. Delegation to the EU-Chile Joint Parliamentary Committee

Asia/Pacific

  1. Delegations for relations with Japan, the People's Republic of China, India, Afghanistan, the countries of South Asia, the countries of Southeast Asia and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), the Korean Peninsula, Australia and New Zealand
  2. Africa
  3. Delegations for relations with South Africa, the Pan-African Parliament

Multilateral Assemblies

  1. Delegation to the ACP-EU Joint Parliamentary Assembly
  2. Delegation to the Euro-Mediterranean Parliamentary Assembly
  3. Delegation to the Euro-Latin American Parliamentary Assembly
  4. Delegation to the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly
  5. Delegation for relations with the NATO Parliamentary Assembly (which will consist of members of the Subcommittee on Security and Defence).

Technical amendments have also been adopted concerning the provisions as regards the composition of these delegations.
