The Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development adopted the report drawn up by Paolo DE CASTRO (S-D, IT) approving subject to an amendment, under the consultation procedure, the proposal for a Council regulation derogating from Regulation (EC) No 1234/2007 (‘Single CMO’ Regulation) as regards the 2009 and 2010 intervention periods for butter and skimmed milk powder.
Due to the serious crisis in the dairy sector, the proposed amendment asks to restore the aid for the private storage of cheese.
