Following the recommendation of its Committee on Budgetary Control, the European Parliament decided by 388 votes to 317 with 52 abstentions to deliver a favourable opinion on the Council’s nomination of Ladislav Balko as a Member of the Court of Auditors.
Before the vote in plenary, the Committee on Budgetary Control had assessed the qualifications of the proposed candidate. It had subsequently heard the candidate at its meeting of 15 March 2016.
