PURPOSE: to approve the conclusion of a Protocol to the Framework Agreement on Partnership and Cooperation between the European Union and its Member States, of the one part, and Mongolia, of the other part, to take account of Croatias accession to the European Union.
NON-LEGISLATIVE ACT: Council Decision (EU) 2017/2271 on the conclusion, on behalf of the Union and its Member States, of the Protocol to the Framework Agreement on Partnership and Cooperation between the European Union and its Member States, of the one part, and Mongolia, of the other part, to take account of the accession of the Republic of Croatia to the European Union.
CONTENT: the Framework Agreement on Partnership and Cooperation between the European Union and its Member States and Mongolia was signed in Ulaan Baatar on 30 April 2013. In accordance with Croatias Act of Accession, the accession to the Agreement must be approved by the conclusion of a Protocol to that Agreement. The Protocol to the Framework Agreement was signed on 31 October 2016, subject to its conclusion at a later date.
By this Decision, the Protocol to the Framework Agreement on Partnership and Cooperation between the European Union and its Member States, of the one part, and Mongolia, of the other part, to take account of the accession of Croatia to the European Union is hereby approved on behalf of the Union and its Member States.
