EU/Philippines Framework Agreement on Partnership and Cooperation: accession of Croatia to the EU. Protocol

PURPOSE: to approve the conclusion of the Protocol to the Framework Agreement on Partnership and Cooperation between the European Union and its Member States, of the one part, and the Philippines, of the other part, to take account of the accession of Croatia to the European Union.

NON-LEGISLATIVE ACT: Council Decision (EU) 2017/2428 on the conclusion, on behalf of the European Union and its Member States, of the Protocol to the Framework Agreement on Partnership and Cooperation between the European Union and its Member States, of the one part, and the Republic of the Philippines, of the other part, to take account of the accession of the Republic of Croatia to the European Union.

CONTENT: the Framework Agreement on Partnership and Cooperation between the European Union and its Member States, of the one part, and the Philippines, of the other part, was signed in Phnom Penh on 11 July 2012.

In accordance with Croatia’s Act of Accession, the accession to the Agreement must be approved by the conclusion of a Protocol to this Agreement. The Protocol to the Framework Agreement has been signed, subject to its conclusion at a later date.

Under this Decision, the Protocol to the Framework Agreement for Partnership and Cooperation between the European Union and its Member States, of the one part, and the Philippines, of the other part, to take into account Croatia’s accession to the European Union, is hereby approved on behalf of the European Union and its Member States.
