The European Parliament adopted a decision tabled by the Committee on Budgetary Control and approved the closure of the accounts of the European Asylum Support Office (EASO) for the financial year 2016.
It should be noted that Parliament had previously adopted a decision refusing to grant discharge to the Executive Director of the EASO in respect of its accounts for 2016 due to the fact that the European Anti-Fraud Office (OLAF) is investigating the Office and due to irregularities in the Office’s procurement procedures.
