EC/Kyrgyzstan Partnership and Cooperation Agreement: accession of Croatia to the EU. Protocol

PURPOSE: to conclude, on behalf of the Union and the Member States, the Protocol to the Partnership and Cooperation Agreement establishing a partnership between the European Communities and their Member States, of the one part, and the Kyrgyz Republic, of the other part, to take account of Croatia's accession to the European Union.

NON-LEGISLATIVE ACT: Council Decision (EU) 2019/301 on the conclusion, on behalf of the Union and of the Member States, of the Protocol to the Partnership and Cooperation Agreement establishing a partnership between the European Communities and their Member States, of the one part, and the Kyrgyz Republic, of the other part, to take account of the accession of the Republic of Croatia to the European Union.

CONTENT: the Council adopted a Decision on the approval, on behalf of the Union, of the Protocol to the Partnership and Cooperation Agreement establishing a partnership between the European Communities and their Member States, of the one part, and the Kyrgyz Republic, of the other part, to take account of Croatia's accession to the European Union.

The Protocol was signed on 6 February 2018, subject to its conclusion at a later date. Under the Protocol, Croatia is included in the Partnership and Cooperation Agreement.

As regards matters falling within the competence of the European Atomic Energy Community, the conclusion of the Protocol is subject to a separate procedure.
