Common organisation of the market in milk and milk products: export refunds

PURPOSE : to amend Regulation 1255/1999/EC on the common organisation of the market in milk and milk products. COMMUNITY MEASURE : Council Regulation 1040/2000/EC amending Regulation 1255/1999/EC on the common organisation of the market in milk and milk products. CONTENT : the aim of the amendment is to give the Commission the same responsibility for identifying the goods eligible for refunds in the milk products sector. Certain management powers shall be transferred to the Management Committee for Milk and Milk Products which are currently vested in the Council with regard to products exported in the form of goods not covered by Annex I. It also enables this particular sector to be incorporated in the targeted approach to reduce the level of export refunds and to exclude products from the list of goods eligible for refunds submitted by the Commission in November 1999, in order to honour WTO commitments and comply with the budget decisions on Agenda 2000 taken by the Council in Berlin. ENTRY INTO FORCE : this Regulation shall enter into force on 16.05.00. �
