The European Parliament decided by 597 votes to 12, with 33 abstentions, to give a favourable opinion on the Councils nomination of Katarína Kaszasová as a Member of the Court of Auditors.
Ms Kaszasová, nominated by the Slovak government, currently serves as a managing director of the Slovak Auditing Oversight Authority, a post she has held since 2020. Before that, she held managerial posts at the European Investment Bank, the European Investment Fund and the European Stability Mechanism in Luxembourg.
Parliaments Committee on Budgetary Control evaluated Katarína Kaszasovás credentials. As part of this evaluation, the committee received a curriculum vitae from Katarína Kaszasová and the answers to the written questionnaire sent to her. The committee then held a hearing with Katarína Kaszasová on 4 September 2023, during which she made an introductory statement and then answered questions put by committee members.
