Amending certain road transport and aviation Directives as regards certain reporting requirements
The Committee on Transport and Tourism adopted the report by Jan Christoph OETJEN (Renew, DE) on the proposal for a decision of the European Parliament and of the Council amending Directives 2009/12/EC, 2009/33/EC and (EU) 2022/1999 of the European Parliament and of the Council and Council Directive 96/67/EC as regards certain reporting requirements in the fields of road transport and aviation.
The committee responsible recommended that the European Parliament's position adopted at first reading under the ordinary legislative procedure should amend the proposal as follows:
It suggests that the European Parliament approve the Commission's proposal subject to an amendment stipulating that the reports submitted to the Commission every five years on the implementation of Directive 2009/33/EC on the promotion of clean and energy-efficient road transport vehicles should contain information on the measures taken to implement the Directive, on future implementation activities and any other information that the Member State considers relevant. These reports should also mention the number and categories of vehicles covered by the contracts referred to in Article 3(1) of the Directive, on the basis of data provided by the Commission.
The Decision should enter into force on the twentieth day following that of its publication in the Official Journal of the European Union.
