Amending certain road transport and aviation Directives as regards certain reporting requirements
The European Parliament adopted by 609 votes to 3, with 8 abstentions, a legislative resolution on the proposal for a decision of the European Parliament and of the Council amending Directives 2009/12/EC, 2009/33/EC and (EU) 2022/1999 of the European Parliament and of the Council and Council Directive 96/67/EC as regards certain reporting requirements in the fields of road transport and aviation.
The European Parliament adopted its position at first reading under the ordinary legislative procedure.
Members support the European Commission's proposal to make limited and targeted changes to four directives in order to streamline reporting obligations.
An amendment stipulated that the reports submitted to the Commission every five years on the implementation of Directive 2009/33/EC on the promotion of clean and energy-efficient road transport vehicles should contain information on the measures taken to implement the Directive, on future implementation activities and any other information that the Member State considers relevant. These reports should also mention the number and categories of vehicles covered by the contracts referred to in Article 3(1) of the Directive, on the basis of data provided by the Commission.
This Decision should enter into force on the twentieth day following that of its publication in the Official Journal of the European Union.
