Euro: denominations and technical specifications of euro coins

In its recommendation for second reading by Ms. Irene SOLTWENDEL-SCHÄFER (Greens, D) the Committee approved the Council Common Position for denominations and technical specifications of euro coins, subject to two amendments. In the first amendment the Committee called for a special gold coin of 100 euros for collectors to be minted alongside the standard coins. The other amendment introduces a new recital calling for greater use of recyclable materials, such as stainless steel, in the production of coins.�
