Regulations and general conditions governing the performance of the European Data Protection Supervisor's duties

The committee adopted the report by Elena PACIOTTI (PES, I) approving the proposal subject to a few minor amendments. It pointed out that this proposal had not been foreseen when decisions on the financial perspective were taken and, as a result, the budgetary authority should make sure that the amount proposed for the Data Protection Supervisor was compatible with the current ceiling of Heading 5 without restricting other policies. The committee also wanted to hold a hearing of the candidates placed on the list drawn up by the Commission. �
