Uruguay Round (1986-1994): results of the multilateral trade negociations

OBJECTIVE: adoption by the Community of the decisions taken within the framework of the Uruguay Round multilateral trade negotiations (1986-1994). COMMUNITY MEASURE: Council Decision 94/800/EC concerning the conclusion on behalf of the Community, as regards matters within its competence, of the agreements reached within the Uruguay Round multilateral negotiations. SUBSTANCE: Following the signature of the Final Act of the Uruguay Round negotiations on 15 April 1994 in Marrakech, this decision aims to adopt the Community texts corresponding to the agreements concluded in the multilateral framework. These texts relate to: . the agreement establishing the World Trade Organisation (WTO) together with a number of corresponding annexes (multilateral agreements on trade in goods, general agreement on trade in services and agreement on the aspects of intellectual property rights that affect trade, dispute settlement understanding, mechanism for reviewing trade policies); . a series of special plurilateral agreements concerning public procurement, milk and bovine meat. �
