Conservation of fishery resources: protection of juveniles of marine organisms

Under consultation procedure, the European Parliament adopted the legislative resolution by Robin Teverson (ELDR,UK) on the Commission's proposal for a Council regulation amending for the second time regulation 850/98/EC of 30/03/98 for the conservation of fishery resources through technical measures for the protection of juveniles of marine organisms. Mr. Teverson's report approvesthe Commission proposal subject to an amendment in the following area: - Following reports by the Member States to the Commission on the application of the conditions of the proposed regulation by 31/05/2001, requiring the Commission to present appropriate proposals, relative to these reports, if required, to the Council and the European Parliament.�
