Social Protection Committee

2003/0133(CNS)
The European Parliament adopted a resolution drafted by Bartho PRONK (EPP-ED, NL) making some amendments to the proposal. (Please see the document dated 22/01/04.) Parliament stated that the Committee should incorporate the gender dimension horizontally and report on the specific difficulties encountered by women, not least in relation to the feminisation of poverty and changes in family models. It would be desirable to introduce sex-disaggregated indicators that focus on the individual rather than on the household.
