2003/0015(CNS)
The European Parliament adopted a resolution drafted by Jorge Salvador HERNANDEZ MOLLAR (EPP-ED, Spain) on restrictive measures directed against terrorism. (Please see the document dated 18/02/03.) Parliament inserted an amendment to the effect that the petition will include a justification for delisting, all relevant information and a request for support for delisting. Any Member State which receives such a petition will communicate to the UN Sanctions Committee any request for delisting. Furthermore, an Article was inserted which states that within 2 years of its entry into force, Member States shall assess the legality and the effectiveness of this Regulation. Lastly, another Article has been included stating that this Regulation shall expire on the same day as UN Security Council Resolutions 1267(1999), 1390(2002) and 1452(2002) are revoked or annulled.
