The European Parliament adopted the resolution drafted by Demetrio VOLCIC (PES, Italy) by 522 votes for, 22 votes against and 22 abstentions and gave its assent to the application by the Republic of Slovenia to become a member of the EU. Parliament stated that this assent would not determine its position on the adjustment of the financial perspectives to cater for enlargement according to point 25 of the Interinstitutional Agreement of 6 May 1999.�
