Supplementary and amending budget 2/2001, section II Council

The European voted 336 to 121 with 2 abstentions to approve the report by Mr Markus FERBER (EPP/ED, D) on the supplementary budget for 2001 of EUR 9.846 million to pay for the recruitment of 51 staff for the Council Secretariat to administer the new Common Foreign and Defence Policy. It should also be noted that before the adoption of the budget, the Parliament rejected (by 53 votes for, 371 votes against and 27 abstentions) the proposal by the Greens to reject the budget.�
