EC/Egypt Euro-Mediterranean Association Agreement: protocol to take in account the accession of the new countries in 2004

PURPOSE : to enable the 10 New Member States to adhere to the Euro-Mediterranean Agreement between the European Communities and Egypt.

PROPOSED ACT : Council Decision.

CONTENT : in accordance with Article 6(2) of the Treaty of Accession of the new Member States to the European Union, the accession of these new Member States to the Euro-Mediterranean Agreement between the EU and Egypt should be approved by the conclusion of protocol to this Agreement. This is the aim of this proposal. The text of the Protocol negotiated with Egypt is attached to this decision.
