The Committee on Employment and Social Affairs adopted the report by Csaba ŐRY (EPP-ED, HU) amending, under the 1st reading of the codecision procedure, the proposal for a regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council amending Council Regulation (EEC) No 1408/71 on the application of social security schemes to employed persons, to self-employed persons and to members of their families moving within the Community. A number of technical amendments have been made by the committee that seek to simplify the proposal, correct errors and omissions and update the annexes to Regulation 1408/71. The amendments take account of changes to the titles of a number of social security payments and corrects a typographical error in the proposal.
