The European Parliament adopted the Community's "other sections" budget at second reading.
This budget also meets the criterion of a rigorous budget demanded of the Community's general
budget.
It noted with satisfaction that, apart from the amendments made by Parliament to its own budget,
and to that of the Ombudsman, for the second time the Council has endorsed Parliament's first
reading of the draft budget without amendment.
Finally, it again underscored the vital need for Community institutions to take on ownership of the
buildings used, since this would entail major savings for future Union budgets.
