Court of Auditors: appointment of a Polish member

Following the recommendation of its Committee on Budgetary Control, the European Parliament decided by 288 votes to 358 with 48 abstentions to deliver a negative opinion on the Council’s nomination of Janusz WOJCIECHOWSKI as a Member of the Court of Auditors.

Before the vote in plenary, the Committee on Budgetary Control had assessed the qualifications of the proposed candidate. It had subsequently heard the candidate at its meeting of 15 March 2016.
