Potato starch: quota system for the production

PURPOSE: reduce the potato starch quotas for the 2000/2001 and 2001/2002 marketing years, in light of the Council's decision of March 1999 (Agenda 2000 agriculture agreement). COMMUNITY MEASURE: Council Regulation 1252/1999/EC amending Regulation 1868/94/EC establishing a quota regime for the production of potato starch. CONTENT: The Council has decided to increase the premium for producers of potato starch for the 2000/2001 and subsequent marketing years, on condition that the quotas are reduced by 2.81% for the 2000/2001 marketing year and by 5.74% for the 2001/2002 marketing year for those Member States whose quota exceeds 100,000 tonnes, and by 1.41% for the 2000/2001 marketing year and 2.87% for the 2001/2002 marketing year for Member States whose quota is less than 100,000 tonnes. As a result, the Regulation provides for a reduction in the quotas in question for the 2000/2001 and 2001/2002 marketing years. ENTRY INTO FORCE: 27/06/1999. The Regulation is applicable from 01/07/2000.�
